Solace Continues to Expand Cloud Strategy with Support for OpenStack and Amazon Web Services

OTTAWA, Ont., Jan. 6, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - Solace Systems, a leading provider of data movement technology, announced today that customers can now deploy its Virtual Message Router (VMR) as part of cloud environments based on OpenStack, and into all regions of Amazon Web Services. The VMR already supports popular hypervisors including VMWare, Oracle VirtualBox and Linux KVM, and Solace will be adding support for more containers, datacenter operating systems and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) offerings soon.

By expanding its support for leading virtualization products, cloud environments and related technologies, Solace is making it possible for companies to use its world-class messaging across private cloud, public cloud, on-premise and hybrid environments to tie together assets ranging from datacenters to Internet of Things (IoT) devices. By offering a fully-integrated messaging platform that can be deployed in all of these environments, as hardware or software, Solace enables total architectural flexibility and application portability. This assures companies can easily scale and evolve their infrastructure as business requirements change and new technologies emerge while preserving their application investment in messaging.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a collection of services that make up a cloud computing platform that helps organizations cost-effectively meet the growing requirements of big data, IoT and mobile applications.

"Amazon Web Services is one of the most popular and sophisticated public cloud environments in the world," said Shawn McAllister, CTO, Solace Systems. "The ability to add our multi-protocol message routing to the proven AWS environment with our Solace Virtual Message Router will enable companies to take their applications to another level."

OpenStack is a free and open source software platform that lets companies easily manage large pools of virtual compute, storage, and networking resources within their own datacenters as a private cloud, or as part of PaaS environments such as Cloud Foundry, OpenShift and Bluemix Local. The Solace VMR is now available as part of an OpenStack-managed infrastructure, which means companies can easily incorporate Solace message routing to provide a shared multi-tenant Messaging-as-a-Service capability into their infrastructure.

"OpenStack has quickly proven itself as the best way to cost-effectively deploy and operate private clouds," said Denis King, Senior VP, Global Field Operations and Strategic Alliances, Solace Systems. "We are proud to give companies a powerful new tool they can use to efficiently move data across their OpenStack-powered cloud environment."
