Sony adds new titles, including original series and “Interstellar” to their 4K content lineup
However, in addition to this set-top box option for Sony 4K content, the company has also created its own Ultraflix 4K video library, accessible through the Ultraflix VOD streaming 4K video service which is owned by Nanotech entertainment.
It’s to this latter service from Ultraflix that Sony has now also added its own original series and the blockbuster hit movie “Interstellar”.
“Powers” is the name of the original series and it is a first of its kind, made available through Sony’s Playstation gaming and media platform. The series follows the story of two homicide detectives who investigate criminal acts committed by people with superhuman abilities. Sounds interesting enough and currently, it’s only available on either Sony’s Ultraflix library or the FMP-X10 media player mentioned above.
As for “Interstellar”, the Chirstopher Nolan movie about humans travelling to a distant star system through a wormhole in order to save humanity was a major blockbuster during the end of 2014 and is now part of the Ultraflix content library , which can be accessed through Sony’s 2014 4K TVs on the Ultraflix app that comes preinstalled on these models.

Sony's line of 4K Ultra HDTV's are designed to provide incredible resolution, but 4K video offerings are still slim pickings. To counter the lack of 4K content available, Sony isn't just adding to its library of content on its 4K Video Unlimited service for its Ultra HDTV's. Sony is charging ahead and making its own 4K video content with the new TV series, "Powers". Sony also just added Christopher Nolan's Interstellar to its UltraFlix 4K video library.

While Video Unlimited 4K is offered through Sony's external 4K media servers, Sony's UltraFlix 4K video library, which uses Nanotech's streaming network, is now available on its 2014 4K Ultra HDTV's and will soon be available on the 2015 models.
