CEO Gary Rosenberg....Take a look at his successful record!
Gary A. Rosenberg Founder, senior manager, consultant and lawyer of and to financial, governmental and educational institutions, as well as public Company Boards of Directors, developers and real property owners, Gary Rosenberg has combined a lifelong passion for real estate, economic development, education, law and public service into a highly fulfilling career which began in Green Bay Wisconsin where he grew up. Still in his teens, he developed his first of four Super Value anchored strip shopping centers in Northeastern Wisconsin and became a licensed real estate broker. His real estate activities served him well in helping him through three degrees, a B.S. and M.B.A. from Northwestern University/ Kellogg School and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin.
Gary went on to become a successful securities lawyer for the SEC in Washington D.C. and in private practice in Chicago. His early real estate experience complemented the largest segment of his practice which dealt with the real estate industry and real estate development. He quickly became well known as a forward thinking innovator for value-creating securitization and development strategies in the real estate industry. He also became well known as a strategist, valued board member and innovator in other industries, including the securities and banking industries and as a mover in the creation of the syndication, REIT and venture capital industries.
As a market focused developer, Gary, who founded Universal Development Corporation, managed it for 20 consecutive years of uninterrupted increases in revenue and net income and took it from an idea to a New York Stock Exchange listed public company, went on to develop more than 50,000 residential housing units along with related commercial properties from coast to coast, as well as to initiate or support the initiation of numerous other developments by other developers and property owners. These include such major developments as Rossmoor, The Villages and Bernardo Heights in California; Westbrook Village and Gold Canyon Ranch Resort/ Superstition Mountain in Arizona, One Magnificent Mile and Woodfield Lakes Office campus in Illinois and Aberdeen in Florida. His residential real estate market experience ranges from entry housing to ten million dollar residential units, from student housing at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay to high rise congregate care condominiums in Walnut Creek, California. His developments have consistently won awards for their excellence in product development and marketing as well as being consistently profitable.
Gary has also been a leader in real estate education. He created and taught the first real estate course for the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, founded and Chairs its Real Estate Research Center and serves on the Kellogg Board. He was the winner of the Schaffner Award for preeminence in his field and outstanding service to Kellogg. He was also a founder of the Center for Real Estate Development at the University of Southern California and has conducted real estate programs at educational institutions throughout the country. He frequently counsels government and University leaders on urban economic development as well as providing development services.
A few of Gary’s favorite public service contributions are: Initiation of The Latin School of Chicago Scholarship program which has significantly broadened this excellent School’s base over the two generations Gary’s family members have attended Latin. “The joy of realizing excellence in learning should not be stultified by economic boundaries, nor should those of greater means be deprived of the opportunity to interact with their intellectual peers of lesser means.” Establishment of the Ben and Joyce Rosenberg Professorship for the Arts at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and support in the development of its Center for the Performing arts in appreciation for his fine upbringing, creativities and morals. Development of Graduate Screenwriting and production programs at the famed School of Cinema and Television at the University of Southern California and support of USC’s trail blazing research/ teaching facility for the study of Neural, Informational and Behavioral Sciences. “Civilization’s great advances know not the boundaries between the arts and the sciences, but rather are fostered by the unencumbered and free exploration at their intersections.”
