I have noticed the use of 2K as the term that was prior to 4k. Not that it matters a whole bunch but the previous technology was 1080p or HD and I guess it could technically be referred to as 1K. 4K or UHD (Ultra High Definition) is the new technology and it is 4 time the pixels of the current HD technology.
