This is wrong on so many levels and we all know it, Until the FAA comes up with a fail safe system they had better learn how to play ball or ground every plane that has an evacuation slide system until they come up with a fail safe system and we know that isn't going to happen.
Seriously let Baltia and their legal council handle it, but if the FAA keeps putting downward pressure on Baltia costing the company more agony, I would say turn it over to the news hounds, it would make a good story and possibly drag some not so honest officials out of the woodwork, It happens, we have all seen the different news stories, I hate the press but sometimes they make up for it. What is good for one airline is good for all, isn't that the way it is supposed to be.
This is an FAA approved evacuation slide system that is subject to fail and everybody knows it but yet will recommend a fail if 1 slide is not 100% and yet gives a rats ass after 1 plane makes it 100% but once repacked and in service we are right where we were to start (Will it Work)
