CONSHOHOCKEN, PA--(Marketwired - Dec 16, 2015) - AlliedBarton Security Services, www.alliedbarton.com , the industry's premier provider of highly trained security personnel, is pleased to have received a GSN: Government Security News Homeland Security Award for its Regional Transportation District (RTD) - Denver Security Bike Patrol program for outstanding physical security solutions in the Physical Security Vendor category.
"We are honored to receive the Homeland Security award for our bike patrol program in Denver," said Mimi Lanfranchi, Senior Vice President, AlliedBarton. "With more than 150 bus routes, six light rail lines, and many specialty services, the Regional Transportation District is committed to keeping passengers and employees safe, securing critical infrastructure and providing customer service. AlliedBarton is proud to be a part of this comprehensive effort, and the GSN award is representative of a collaborative, solutions-driven security program."
"Our bike patrol security officers have extended RTD's security presence -- enhancing the RTD brand and creating an even more secure environment for RTD's ridership," added Charlie Bohnenberger, Vice President, Government Services, AlliedBarton. "Security bike patrols offer RTD a rapid deployment force, and are able to move quickly and respond to emergencies."
RTD implemented the AlliedBarton bike patrol solution to address an evolving security need following the opening of a new light rail line. The expanded rail services created a security concern as the immediate area was not accessible by vehicle, and foot patrol was impractical. The bike patrol allowed for effective patrols, and provided increased security visibility and a deterrent to crime.
