I put in an order at 1.53 today, when it was supposedly the ask. It took a VERY long time, well over a minute, for me to get a partial fill of just 200 shares (meaning that the rest of my order did NOT get filled) and then the ask immediately went up to 1.55. So where were those great market makers who supposedly short stock to keep the markets running smoothly and give you fast fills?
Obviously what I'm saying is, all that stuff about how the FINRA number is supposedly meaningless because it's mostly market makers keeping the market running smoothly -- is bosh. I think that when we see higher FINRA short numbers on huge volume days, some or even much of it really IS market maker activity -- but I sure don't think that was true today and the other low volume days.
This isn't the first time that I've had to wait a long time for a fill. Remember months ago when I kept posting about getting 1000 shares filled in 10 100-share lots, and had to wait a long time even though I went in at the ask?
