Dear Backers,
This news release covers important updates about the status of your product.
Before saying anything else, you’ll be happy to know that we’re already through with trial mass production of the iTraq+. The hardware is finished. The casing is finished. The software is finished. Keep reading for more detailed updates.
Firstly there’s an important new feature being integrated in the iTraq+ that you will greatly benefit from and is a first in the tracking device industry. It’s important to focus on this feature briefly so you understand its value and because it also leads to the second part of this news release. iTraq+ is coming out with the ability to make wireless firmware updates through the mobile phone app. Based on the research we’ve done there are no other tracking devices that offer wireless updates. Consumers are familiar with Microsoft and Apple pushing updates to their operating systems for computers, phones, and tablets, now iTraq is implementing the ability to upgrade the firmware (similar to operating system of a computer) of a tracking device.
The many benefits of automatic system updates include:
Bringing improved features and functionality to users without having to buy a new device.
Fixing any bugs in the firmware that weren’t caught during the testing phase.
Improving security features on everyone’s devices no matter when it was purchased.
We are delighted to be the first company to bring this feature to market and it’s allowing us to accomplish another industry first. Generally product companies spend substantial time and resources testing their products before going to market, this delays product release and increases the cost to end users. iTraq’s product is currently going through preliminary QA and testing, but we know the best testers aren’t sitting behind a desk, they are the actual people who will use the product.
So, secondly, with the advent of iTraq’s firmware updating feature we’re going to start distributing a limited edition of tracking devices to 200 beta users. The purpose of this is to get customer feedback about the usability of the product, identify any bugs we missed, and use that information to come out with a more perfect firmware prior to the product's general release. After updates have been made to the firmware the beta users can update their own devices with the newest firmware. We don’t foresee any hardware changes being required between the beta devices and the general release devices, however if there are any hardware updates the beta users will get the new hardware.
The next step is to identify 200 people to become beta testers. As a beta tester you will get an iTraq+ before the general public, all tracking you do during the testing period will be paid for by iTraq, you will be in direct contact with our product development team and are expected to report any bugs or improvement suggestions that you find while using the product. Anyone interested in being a beta tester please subscribe here. If we have more than 200 applicants priority will be given to people who already contributed to Beta program during the Indiegogo campaign (paid $250 for the program), people in different locations so we can have feedback from people around the globe. Within a specific location priority will be given to backers with the highest funding amount. For example someone who contributed $500 to the campaign will get priority over someone who contributed $100.
We’re very excited about the advances made to the iTraq+ device, apologize for the delays, and can’t wait to get your feedback! Hope everyone is having a great holiday season. Thanks for your attention and patience as we work hard to make the iTraq+ great for you.
Sincerely,
Roman Isakov
