Cylance Named by CRN Magazine as One of the 10 Coolest Security Startups of 2015

IRVINE, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 10, 2015) - Cylance , the company that is revolutionizing cybersecurity through the use of artificial intelligence to proactively prevent, rather than just reactively detect, advanced persistent threats and malware, announced today that it has been named to CRN Magazine's 10 Coolest Security Startups of 2015 .

CRN stated, "The 10 startups that made CRN's list of coolest security startups this year came to market with innovations in data security, mobile, cloud and more. They distinguished themselves through the year by nabbing top-notch executives, grabbing hefty amounts of venture capital funding and launching innovative solutions that aimed to solve the security challenges that plague businesses today."

This year, Cylance has demonstrated unprecedented growth by acquiring hundreds of customers and adding Intel's CISO, Malcolm Harkins to its team. The company has successfully proven that artificial intelligence is a radically different technological approach to cybersecurity that prevents over 99% of advanced threats and malware from ever executing in real-world situations while traditional endpoint antivirus solutions only detect approximately 50%.

"2015 has been a big year for Cylance, which landed $42 million in Series C funding , saw growth in excess of 400 percent year over year and teamed up with Dell for an integrated endpoint security offering," notes Sarah Kuranda, Associate Editor at CRN, covering security. "Part of the exploding trend of next-generation endpoint security companies, Cylance distinguishes itself by doing away with signatures and relying on mathematics and algorithms to detect suspect behavior."

"Cylance is honored to be considered a 'Cool Security Startup' by CRN," said Stuart McClure, CEO of Cylance. "Our mission is to protect those who can't protect themselves and empower those who can. In partnership with our reseller and system integrator community, we are able to apply our artificial intelligence approach to solve the world's most sophisticated threats."
