Dr Karl-Gerhard Eick takes over as Chairman from Bruno Scherrer. Dr Claus Nolting was elected as Deputy Chairman. Bruno Scherrer had been the Chairman of the IKB Supervisory Board since Lone Star acquired its majority interest in IKB in October 2008. During this time, he supported the successful restructuring of the Bank following the financial crisis. As part of its restructuring, IKB reduced material risks, established a solid equity position, secured its liquidity, and focused its business model on Mittelstand companies. IKB is now reporting positive results for the third consecutive year, successfully passed the 2014 ECB test in all respects, and has improved its capital ratios further in the meantime. This change in the Supervisory Board chair marks the end of the Bank's restructuring phase and opens the way to a strengthened redeployment of its business activities. Bruno Scherrer: "With Dr Karl-Gerhard Eick, the Chairmanship of the IKB Supervisory Board is being taken over by a proven expert in financial and industrial matters with a background spanning a wide range of sectors (including a number of years as CFO at Deutsche Telekom and as a member of the Supervisory Board at Deutsche Bank). He will build on this extensive experience to provide important impetus for the Bank's continued development."
