I just asked Aaron after I talked to SAMSUNG support to help me load UltraFlix, did I need to install the Nividia Shield.
He answered me.
No ,You do not!

I suspect if You want to play the Nividia Games, then You would definitely have to install the Nividia Shield.
So technically UltraFlix does not need it, but to play Nividia Games You need it indeed!
I do not play Games.
