9:44 ET - Eli Lilly(LLY) , Merck (MRK) and Johnson & Johnson(JNJ) could be in the hunt for deals that bolster their drug pipelines, Barclays says. Such R&D-based deals would add more value than many recent transactions that have focused on cutting costs, Barclays says. Lilly might want to bolster its early- and mid-stage pipeline, while Johnson & Johnson(JNJ) might look for compounds in rare diseases and cancer and Merck could also eye cancer, Barclays says.
