99 movies is going to be a lot to watch; I finally hooked up my Samsung 1080p 55" smart tv to Ethernet, updated, and looked for the UltraFlix app. To my disappointment, it's not available for my model. (I bought it in 2010) The 65" 4K Samsung that I will be getting in February does support the Ultraflix app, though. In the meantime, I can always do what I did last time & hook my ONDA V989 Android tablet's micro HDMI out to an HDMI input on my TV and enjoy Ultraflix movies in 1080p, which still looks very good.
I still just can't get over how July 1st I was thinking about how awesome it would be to have a movie like Terminator on UF and now it's reality. Some people shitbag on Genisys, but I thought it was a pretty damned good movie; they were able to squeeze a little more story out of the Terminator and kind of put a twist on things. Not only that, but modern CGI effects really shine in the movie. Let's hope for more visual treats like PIXELS some day in 4K.
By my count, 12 iHang board regulars went for the 99/99 deal today.
I'm also thrilled by the prospect of playing Borderlands 2 on my PS4 through my Monster Cable Black Diamond HDMI 4K cable upscaled to 4K by the TV. I've read mixed things about video games on 4K tvs, but if I'm getting it anyway and upgrading another 10 inches of real estate, there's no turning back. Speaking of which, are any of you PS4 gamers? If you are, add me! I'm always down for a game of Call Of Duty: Ghosts Extinction Mode, Borderlands 2, and Diablo 3. I don't mind boosting trophies occaisionally.
I've definitely noticed a few head-turns/double-takes on my Ultraflix magnets that I had custom made from magnetsonthecheap.com They ran me about $80 and I'm sure they're going to be worth it. It's "brand recognition" that is going to make a difference. It's going to feel really good when UF is big time and I get to say "told ya so" when people point out the magnets in the future.
