To me, they would have been better off doing a 5 for $5 or a 10 for $10 deal. Don't know about many of you, but I don't think I have watched 99 movies in the past 5 years, let alone in a year. Their margins on that 99 for $99 have to be pretty much zero, so they are more or less giving the movie away for free and tying up a customer to that deal for a year or more, instead of the 10 for $10 deal where if he liked it, he could then start paying real money for new movies within a month or two.
Just makes no sense to me why they would do this. There is nothing positive in it for the company. No revenue and no people renting movies for money they can actually make a profit on because they have 99 movies to go through before that.
