That said, if Brilacidin-OM becomes approved, I hope that whatever company ends up marketing it will be smart enough not to gouge these patients the way that scumbag Shkreli and his Turing Pharma company are, but will "make it up on volume" -- because if Bril-OM is incredibly expensive, it will be difficult to get some insurance companies to approve its use for everyone. Cheapskate companies will probably refuse to put it in the formulary for forms of cancer whose chemo regimens don't typically create severe OM. It's sickening when you read about people having to fight their companies to get life-saving treatments -- I can only imagine how difficult it's going to be to get them to pay for something like Bril-OM that they'll say "isn't necessary" if it is really expensive.
As far as that MuGard stuff, it seems to have a lot of side effects and allergic reactions. Don't know about the cost of that drug, but I did run across a post from someone who asked if anyone had any left over that he could try and it seemed like it was because of the expense. Awful to think of people being deprived of anything that could help them.
