The awards were presented jointly to CUSOURCE , and the program developer, Tamlo International Inc . The course, Financial Abuse of Older Adults: Recognize, Review, and Respond was released in November 2014, during Financial Literacy Month, to address the growing problem of elder financial abuse. CUSOURCE understood that elder financial abuse is a growing problem in Canada (and around the world) – and knew that credit union employees have an important role to play in preventing the abuse from happening or perpetuating. The course was initially spearheaded with Prevent Elder Abuse Manitoba (PEAM) and has received praise in the House of Commons.
