Re: Robodog #20120
I've been busy with other things, needed to read your post and replies a second time, then say, what a great summary and DD offering from your 20 years of experience...very good Robodog!

Now, I have a comment then question.

I come from 37 years as an electrical equipment supply career, and I am a BSEE grad from CSULB 1971. I want electrician Bob to listen up too, all of you as well.

Most every person in the USA uses the term "UL Approved." When we buy electrical consumer goods such as a toaster, blender, stero, tv, extension cord...on and on, we see that UL (Underwriters Labs) Label. Everything we buy has the UL Label. Canada has the Canadian Standards Assoc Label (CSA). The two labels more often than not are on the packaging...a reciprocal issue showing the public the product meets public safety standards.

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS.......UL APPROVED.

Products are UL LISTED. There is a FILE NUMBER for each listing. Like products manufacturer by manufacturer must meet the exact testing standards to earn the UL Label.

So Mr Robodog.....why does the FAA use the term FAA APPROVED?

In legal terms, APPROVED means the manufacturer takes responsibility, where LISTING means the product was tested to meet a universal standard by like manufacturers.

What are your thoughts Robodog?
