my guess is the report comes as late as possible to meet the deadline. this will give the shorts plenty of time to place their orders. a short squeeze would boost share price nicely.
another theory...what if they miss the deadline by a day? who might benefit? probably would be lots of selling and followed by lots of buying cheap shares after the quarterly report comes out. yeah, thats a conspiracy theory but they are fun to think about.
