Cubic Listed Among Top 100 Military Friendly Employer 2016 by Victory Media for Third Consecutive Year

SAN DIEGO, Calif., Nov. 10, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - Cubic Corporation ( NYSE: CUB ) today announced it was recognized as a 2016 Military Friendly® Employer by Victoria Media, the publisher of G.I. Jobs® and Military Spouse magazines. Cubic was also listed as a Top 25 2016 Military Friendly Employer in the defense industry. The 2016 list of Military Friendly Employers distinguishes companies who boast the strongest job opportunities, hiring practices and retention programs for transitioning service members and spouses seeking civilian employment.

"We are proud to be recognized as a Top Military Friendly Employer for the third consecutive year. Cubic is committed to not only supporting our Nation's military and its allied nations through our products and services, but also veterans, transitioning military and active reservists as they seek careers during or after service," said Bradley H. Feldmann, president and chief executive officer of Cubic Corporation. "More than 40 percent of employees at Cubic have military service backgrounds and their unique experiences bring a wealth of industry experience to our company."

"Companies that have earned the 2016 Military Friendly Employer award have exceptionally strong hiring programs and meaningful careers for transitioning service members and spouses," said Daniel Nichols, chief product officer of Victory Media and Navy Reserve veteran. "Our Military Friendly Employers are moving the needle beyond answering 'why hire military' -- they are truly aligning their jobs and recruiting efforts with Military Friendly educators to translate military competencies into civilian jobs."

Companies compete for the elite Military Friendly Employer title by completing a data-driven survey, with data independently tested by Ernst & Young based upon the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media and its advisory board. Criteria for the survey included a benchmark score across key programs and policies, such as the strength of company military recruiting efforts, percentage of new hires with prior military service, retention programs for veterans, and company policies on National Guard and Reserve service.

Cubic will be showcased along with other 2016 Military Friendly Employers in the December issue of G.I. Jobs magazine, as well as on MilitaryFriendly.com .
