Apple TV: 10 Reasons You Shouldn't Buy One 1.

1. It doesn’t do 4K UHD video
As I’ve discussed at length in an earlier article, the fact that the new Apple TV is incapable of streaming 4K video content is for me its single worst failing.
After all, 4K video really can deliver some beautiful picture quality, especially on large TVs. Also, the majority of big-screen TVs now on sale carry native 4K resolutions, and the amount of 4K UHD content being created is starting to rocket – with much of this 4K content finding its way on to the world’s major video streaming platforms. So surely a key new video source in 2015 should be able to marry up with what’s now becoming the video standard for the TV hardware Apple TV is designed to hook up to?
Compounding this potential deal breaking issue with Apple TV is the fact that all of its major rivals have ‘gone 4K’. These include the new Amazon Fire HD box, the new Roku 4, and the Nvidia Shield TV.
