When a PP takes place those purchases directly fund BLTA as the transaction is payment to BLTA for shares.
Once you sell those PP shares in the open market the transaction is between buyer & seller. The buyer's purchase is a stake in BLTA, hoping BLTA is profitable, produces growth etc to create shsreholder ROI.
Think of it this way. You buy a TV at Best Buy. That initial purchase transacts cash to Best Buy and a TV to you. Now you go to EBAY and sell it. That buyer from you on EBAY isn't benefiting Best Buy. 2 weeks later they sell it again on EBay, and so on and so forth.
All the initial purchases support BLTA, including issuance of new shares. Everything else in the open market is just trading $ from hand to hand (minus commissions/spreads) You are invested in BLTA hoping for their success to share in a ROI
