I bought AVXL at about the same time as I bought CTIX -- 2012. Held AVXL at a huge loss for years, when it started showing signs of life I bought 20x as much (not all at once) and am now very profitable on it. I think it has potential to do a great deal of good if it works even moderately well, not just with the Alzheimer's drug but with the potential as an anti-seizure drug. Anyone who knows someone with seizure disorders, as I do, knows how incredibly important that is.
I'm not criticizing in any way those people who have both stocks. I'm just annoyed at the people who were bragging about going all in on AVXL, and then disappeared after it ran up. Pumper schemes only hurt stocks in the long run, and burn investors. It seemed that on some boards CTIX was being badmouthed as AVXL was being pumped, and in some cases that reversed when they seemingly reversed positions. Check out the dreaded Yahoo and you'll see what I mean.
By the way, I'm trying to get the AVXL board going here, so any posts there would be most welcome.
