I've seen the fails even with the stops set when volatility was extreme, and not only in my own accounts. Your just lucky if it hasn't happened to you, but I doubt it. You took your shot without even considering the type of account I was referencing. I said it before and I'll say it again, the tactics you refer to aren't rocket science and I use them all of the time in my ETRADE acct.(minus shorting), as I will in my Hewitt acct. once the trading restrictions are removed from this stock.
