I myself found out over years of trading - I do my best when I keep a core (long term 3+ years) and use 50% of that to trade around which helps lower core costs but keeps me in the game - so for example I use 100K as core and 50k as traders keeps me active and alive in my positions because i can react daily without messing with the core holdings -- I do this with All stocks I own - I've also set up TDAM accts for my 2 G' Babies -- I transfer 10k shares RMHB for their Birthdays and Christmas - by time they're 8 each will have 100k RMHB - to use for future education and in 15 years down the road they might be able to buy a wing at their college of their choice
