Why did this happen?
• Was it as a result of the Oct 22 increase of authorized shares?
• Release of news regarding Hamonic? (Released 10:49 EST, Oct 23)
• Facebook announcement on our successful coast-to-coast broadcast of our technology? (2:30pm EST. Oct 23)
• Associated with the SHL (Released 9:30pm EST)
My initial thoughts Thursday evening after we found out about the increase of authorized shares was we would take a hit in the morning. And we did initially. I’m sure some shareholders panicked and sold and others got their stop-loss orders executed. But as the day wore on the trading didn’t appear to relate to that. We were trading in a very tight range. Large trades were noticed as the day wore on. Then at 2:37pm the nearly 17 million share trade passed on the ticker. An MM collecting shares during the day for someone. Who was he buying for?
The Harmonic news was good news but much like our other partnerships there really isn’t any way you can quantify the revenue impact at this stage of the relationship.
The Facebook announcement about Harmonic news and the coast to coast broadcast. Great news again and just maybe we are talking serious dollars here. But that is potential not cash in the drawer and how long will it take to achieve your first broadcast and what are you broadcasting. We are just a little company and how can we compete with the big boys? Hmmm, now Yahoo is streaming an NFL game, and the advertising sold out rather quickly albeit at discount prices. Discount prices mainly associated with the teams playing (Buffalo & Jacksonville), 9:30am EST broadcast time and overall uncertainty. But many people in the industry see the potential of live OTT streaming vs network broadcast and maybe there is a big future here for 4K broadcasting but who can broadcast in 4K. Well, we just proved we can with the assistance of Harmonics.
The SHL came out after markets were closed so there was no impact during the trading day. And what impact will it have on Monday trading is anybody’s guess. The letter was good but we had heard many of those things before….not impressed? But there were little nuggets in the letter and a big shoe drop. A little nugget in the increase of content budget from $2 to $10 million. Ok, but were does this money come from. The 400 million extra shares at our current PPS only brings in 4 million, 6 million dollars short of our new budget. Hmmm, is our little Ultraflix flexing a little muscle here and bringing in more dollars than originally forecast? Well, yes, Jeff Foley said we are “experiencing exponential growth with the Ultraflix platform”. And our build out is still ongoing and we are still working with other manufacturers. Oh, and who was that new manufacturer? Humax? Who are they? Well, they manufacture set top boxes, globally. See more here www.humaxdigital.com/am/about/ourcompany.php.
This is great news partnering with Humax but how many dollars are we talking about? Don’t know. But we have some great partners and gaining more. And Jeff said we have been successful because of our ability to take advantage of opportunities. But it takes resources to take advantage of these opportunities.
The value of a listed company is tied to growth and revenue. To date, while we have been profitable, the money isn’t yet flooding in, at least that we know of. And as a startup company, there are risks attached, and no financial institution is going to jump in and invest. Well, what is this new recapitalization thing and this shareholder proxy all about? Mergers, debt restructuring, new deals, joint venture, etc. Don’t you need a Wall Street financial firm to accomplish this? Hmmm…. a 17 million share trade and 40 million shares traded for the day. Daily short trades decreasing. Does somebody know something? If we are doing this thing wouldn’t we have already contacted a firm? Shorts know things long before we do…they are not stupid. Scuttlebutt gets around to them faster than to retail customers. There is something going on here and the information associated with the SHL was the big shoe. I hope the shoe fits my foot comfortably.
