You have to realize though that many of these articles may have been written weeks or even months before their publication, especially for magazines. Investment articles should be more timely but often lack real investigative research by the author as these authors may be freelance and not necessarily in the industry loop. But still, this lack of knowledge on the subject matter shows a lack of journalistic integrity which has become common place in that particular industry.
