PP Update
Quote:
We promised an update on the Company’s PocketPuffer™ vaporizer. But, first, a little background on the PocketPuffer™:
We wanted to develop a dry herbal vaporizer that would be the best on the market. It has undeniably taken longer to develop than anyone involved ever
expected. We have continually made improvements to the unit as we conducted our Quality Control (QC) and received feedback from vaporizer users. I cannot stress enough how difficult the process has been to engineer a unit that did not incorporate off-the-shelf parts—requiring every individual part to be created and machined from scratch. Anytime you create something from scratch that involves electronics and parts created with molds, it is going to take time—and often longer than predicted.
To introduce an innovative vaporizer unit like the PocketPuffer™, a lot of attention to detail and QC. There have been several occasions where it looked like the unit was ready for the marketplace only to discover a minor problem that would have resulted in negative user reviews and returns if we had introduced the product to market.
This is the reason, not an excuse, for why it has taken such a long time to get this unit to this point.
So when is the PocketPuffer™ going to market launch and RFMK begin to realize revenues?
Last night I had a call with our manufacturer. They sent a few pictures and video of the first production round units. Among the updates and upgrades:
The unit now only requires one hand to open whereas before the process was a bit cumbersome and required both hands to open. Also, the opening and closing of the unit is smooth and not “clunky’ as it was in the prototypes.
The two chambers have a “T” closure feature. In the prototypes, this “T” fixture was not tight and simply slid on and off. So another design change, a silicone gasket is being added under the aluminum chamber tops, was implemented for two reasons; This improvement will serve two purposes: provide a more secure closure of the chambers and, the silicone will dissipate heat more efficiently, which will keep the chamber doors snug and secure and not let excess air in.
So, once the silicone gaskets are added, we are expecting the first round of units to ship. The manufacturer believes that all the silicone gaskets can be added this week. If this is the case, the Company will be able to begin fulfilling orders next week. Now, given my past experience, I am very leery of timelines the manufacturer and the factory have given us, but I will continue to stay on top of the manufacturer and the factory to get this last design update completed and the units shipped. And, again, we are going to air ship the units so that we may have the units on hand to ship to reviewers, drawing winners and the pre-orders. We will then, shortly thereafter, open up general sales.
As a quick reminder, the entire first production round has been paid for in full, so the revenue generated by these sales will flow 100% to the company.
