This statement sums it up best for me, and how I feel about Mr. Striving.
"You're a throwback to a time when a man's word meant something. That's a characteristic that's lost on a lot of people today."
The lady or gentleman that wrote this hit it right on the head. Striving, is a outstanding, upright guy, who is talking the straight stuff, about our situation, and about the work ethic or lack there of, from the FAA.
If his words have bothered you, perhaps your soul mate works for the FAA or perhaps you ingested too much acid in the 70s or too much ecstasy in the 2000s.
It seems to me there are too few grab the bull by the horns type in the FAA, just a lot of pencil pushers. No leadership, no work ethic, no self motivation. Just a lot of pick up my check twice a month, and am I due for my next pay raise and vacation time slot.
All an epidemic of this once great country. It is all about doing the least amount of work, and complaining how hard you work, and how under appreciated you are and your work is now adays. Zero pride, minimum professionalism.
Sad times indeed.
