Shaping the CACTH. Going from Idea to Reality, Ov

In an older Pingdom blog, “Why is almost half of Google in Beta,” the piece begins with, “According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a beta is ‘a nearly complete prototype of a product.’ In other words, a not-yet-finished product.”
We confirmed this definition and furthered our investigation of the meaning for shareholder purposes, with an explanation of ‘beta test’ from the same resource [www.merriam-webster.com]. Beta Test is defined as, “a field test of the beta version of a product (as software) especially by testers outside the company developing it that is conducted prior to commercial release.”
This particular Pingdom blog piece, explores why Google chose to keep nearly 45% of their products in beta, for as long as four years (at that time). Their conclusion on Google’s purpose and determining criteria was simple: “We honestly don’t know. Perhaps Google is redefining the word ‘beta’ itself.” http://www.purenow.solutions/shaping-the-cacth/
