it has recently been reported, as noted by mad cramer, that wages are actually ca 6.5% less than in c 2000
Cramer noted deflation tendencies at work and also that many jobs are lost to technology-as i reported before from other sources.
Long term it often takes 2 wage earners now -before women entered the labor force in numbers beginning in the mid 70's the standard of living was often higher w only one wage earner before globalism destroyed the middle class jobs.
a perusal of jobs available shows practically no manufacturing jobs- shipped to Mex side of border (lower labor costs than China now) and China/Vietnam (how ironic- didnt we fight a war there and we are de facto at war w china as per many measures ,including cybertechnology hacking of monstrous proportions stealing trillions of technology and identities for blackmail etc so- the only major difference between that and 911 is the sophistication and often hidden from view but less hidden now) etc
the following are the consistent jobs available - otr trucking, seasonal part time (meaning without benefits-either under 24 or 35 hrs/week) sales service jobs, sell sell til u drop like insurance and telemarketing (often outsourced to India or low wage areas of usa like Georgia).
These are the kinds of jobs consistently advertised partly because many of them are so demeaning (except truck driving?) that even a population which long ago lost its soul cannot bear such jobs for long,so there's a high turnover.
The only quality jobs advertised of any number are nurse or medical doctor and such are in short supply in many areas because they object to obamacare quotas and insurance limits.
Note that even store manager jobs usually only require a GED. Very very few business jobs require even a bachelors degree. Meanwhile, colleges dishonestly and endlessly push people to get unending multiple degrees business simply considers irrelevant- the vast gap between the promise and the reality-the renaissance is long dead (and I'm reporting this on a stock board!).
