What I am worried about after talking to my broker

What I am worried about after talking to my broker is say they give us these private shares at $0.27/share, who knows how liquid it will be to get money out and then you get hit with a huge tax bill.... Not bashing just nervous cause I can't afford that unless we can get our money out...
