This would explain the almost doubling of the float in less than 6 months, to the max authorized.
I would guess that this is also the reason why they put on B- and C-movies, either cheap to license or maybe some even free, just to built content, and some revenue.
The EDM clips f.e.. They have twenty of them for free. Was this just a test, or did they bargain a free/cheap deal just to get some content and interest from EDM aficionados ? That didn't work out well I would say. No follow up since, or awaiting funds ?
Why have they started uploading only Paramount and not anything from Millennium that was apparently finally a "done deal" five months after it was announced, waiting for "missing signatures" ?. Arguably because of Paramount having more attractive titles, but not a single one ? Awaiting funds ?
Nothing more from Inception or Bollywood either. What about WB ?
When are the "coming soon" flicks coming ? Awaiting funds ?
Why did they initially, as confirmed by IR, put on HD versions of the Paramount movies, not even in 4K ? To save on conversion costs or get them uploaded quickly as to not lose investor faith completely after announcing them at the SHM ?
None of the old Paramount movies are scanned in 4K, just upscaled HD. Why ? Cheaper that way, and who will see the difference ? The UF "4k" versions seem to be far better than HD/Blu-ray anyhow.
Don't know, just guessing, but I would say it all points to a lack of funds. It looks to me like they want to do a lot, but lack the money to accomplish it due to less revenue than expected.
Maybe, just maybe these Paramount movies can bring in the expected cash. That's what I hope.
We'll see what revenue they made last year when the annual is published this month. Regrettably they won't contain the Paramount revenue yet, except for Interstellar and GI Joe.
Wonder what they have made them.
I don't expect too much of it, but maybe they can surprise us.
