if this was a scam, TBEV would have made up a random set of numbers and/or used an old bar code from a random product. Why bother paying the fees for a scam?
but guess what... TBEV not only paid the fees for this barcode, this barcode has NEVER been used before. searching every UPC database, I could not find one that recognized this UPC #. which means they didn't steal a random code from some vague product in order to fool everyone.
even more, this code# has been registered with GS1 . the company name is still under 'dethrone' but that doesn't matter; easy eventual fix that doesn't affect the company in any way. but whats important is that TBEV actually applied for the application and received their very own unique barcode; meaning this product has a GS1 registered barcode; aka not fake.
try it out for yourself, don't take my word for it:

Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) can be used by a company to uniquely identify all of its trade items. GS1 defines trade items as products or services that are priced, ordered or invoiced at any point in the supply chain.
another interesting note is, we can figure out when TBEV is close to being marketed on a large scale by searching for the UPC# in one of the many online databases! as soon as the number is recognized, it means the product is ready to be marketed!
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
