DD2, I don't think a company gets to select it's own market makers, regardless of exchange or lack thereof. A company can engage an investment banker for a new stock offering and usually the investment bank will engage in price stabilization efforts for some agreed-upon period. They would buy or sell but are not necessarily market makers, although they can be.
