I don't disagree adirondachki, with one caveat. The market is a place where money usually flows from the small guy to the big guy. If, and when, it crashes the big guy can afford to wait it out. That is why institutions and corporations make better "long term" holders. That being said, I know that most people here are playing this thing one way or the other. I try my best not to be one of those people, who lead the cheers regardless of what the stock is doing. I know that what I say can influence someone to invest more than they otherwise would OR move in/out when they otherwise wouldn't. While I learned years ago what it means to "only invest what you can afford to lose", many newbies learn that every day.
There is a certain amount of "irrational exuberance" inherent on the pinks. I try not to add to that and I try to encourage caution when I see that level spiking, especially when the numbers are moving in the opposite direction. Sometimes a person who doesn't get out of the blocks early does just fine in the race, especially a marathon.
