Nope. Those daily numbers are meaningless. Only the first leg of a trade is reported(which is true the short position was taken at that amount, but the bi weekly only shows settled short interest, those that were taken out and covered a day or more after the short interest position was taken.), and that figure represents the ones where a MM went short to handle the trade. In almost all cases (if they are not made right away they have 16 to 24 days to find the shares), a long entry was made right away to close the trade.
