A quick story and a link to a website for you. First the story, there was a president of a company who decided to purchase all of the stock in his company, EVERY SINGLE SHARE! So he did just that, he bought all of the OS in the company. The next day he was shocked as he watched the ticker show trade after trade of his company. How is that possible? He knew exactly how many shares were issued and outstanding and he owned them all.
The answer....NAKED SHORTING. It's supposed to be used to maintain liquidity in markets but it's often criminally abused and almost never goes punished.
The way you determine daily real short selling vs. naked short selling most of which will never deliver the underlying stock that they borrowed to sell short. Essentially if the open short volume exceeds the dark pool volume the difference is attributed to naked short selling. So to merely look at the daily short volume/percentage which I believe was around 45% of the total volume and the dark pool volume was 70,000 ( i believe). You subtract the dark pool from the open short to get the Naked short volume.
NTEK could have hundreds of millions of counterfeit shares (IOU's) trading that will NEVER convert to real shares and never be paid!

NTEK needs to get a handle on the dilution. That only exacerbates the problems for the stock. But for now, I hope management continues uploading new film and has something in the can for live tv. Revenue and profits will ultimately drive this stock but the bumpy ride as we saw today still isn't over. Just don't get scared and dump at the first sign of trouble. Instead buy more, eventually you'll be happy you did.
