That same mentality almost kept me from buying this initially 8/17 but thank God I did. I also bailed from the last of my position just hours before it was halted but I have bought back 2 million shares which is only putting 1/30th of the $$ I made before. If this goes away I am still far ahead of the game. But having been in the business (stock) 35 years I was 99% sure that I was not going to get the dividend. I was not aware of the NASDAQ rule 11140b2 on special dividends pertaining to 25% rule. So even if I feel 99% sure that my 2 million shares will be worth nothing (which I don't feel that way at all) then I know how wrong I can be.
