Most of the time movies play perfect but sometimes

Most of the time movies play perfect but sometimes one has a tough time starting. Happens to me on Mac fairly often. I can get it to play by being persistent in selecting , quit and restart app or jumping ahead in the progress bar if the screen comes up black (I can hear the sound but no picture).
