Comparing rental prices to previous uploads of A-list movies, I tend to believe that they are all upscaled. (Fargo and The Fastest Indian f.e., were Gold, and are still at 9.99 and 7.99)
I was watching the comparison screen shots from "The Island" from a poster on the pony board.
I was rather surprised, not by the quality of the Ultaflix shots, but by the lack of it on the Amazon screenshots. Is Amazon really that bad, after all, they have it in HD ?
One thing I found out is that he aparently takes screenshots from trailers, not the actual streaming movie. All shots he took can be seen in the trailer @ http://www.amazon.com/Island-Scarlett-Johanss...he+island#
Here's one I took myself, from a desktop HD screen, and reduced it to 33% to match his picture's size, that's all.
compare it to his screenshot@:

His Amazon screenshot taken from a MacBook Pro seems to look worse. Strange.
Just sayin'.
