Hey gang one thing to remember...I may have already touched on this but my memory seems to elude me lately. So if I've discussed naked shorting and liquidity already, just disregard the rest of this. If I haven't then you can still disregard this babble if you'd like. Anyway, I've read countless posts over the years both private and public that essentially reads, 'for every buyer there's a seller and vice versa'. Well, I hate to disappoint those of you who may believe that statement but, quite frankly it's nonsense!
One example would be something like maintaining liquidity in a market where there may be very little, a market maker without shares to sell can naked short shares without first having sourced those borrowed shares to sell. He's supposed to then locate and deliver those shares to the buyer within a specified period of time. Nothing illegal about that but it's when a dealer -broker never makes delivery of the shares that they've shorted then the shares that were sold short technically don't exist. So what the shitheads do is naked short the hell out of a stock in hopes they can drive it into bankruptcy and thereby never have to cover their short much less deliver the borrowed shares that they never borrowed to the unsuspecting buyer. Usually this is a coordinated attack by hedge funds and market makers. It's absolutely criminal and yet the SEC does little about it.
I added a link in an earlier post today, it's the SEC list of Failures to Deliver for the first two weeks in August. Not surprisingly NTEK shows up on 6 or 7 days in that two week trading period with hundreds of thousands of shares that were not delivered.
Anyway theres more but for now just try to absorb that.
