So as of Aug. 14 they are admitting to a 10% increase in short sales, to a little more than 1.3 million. Let's say Mako and his syndicate have all of that -- so they made a couple million just by writing a hit piece and using some market maker or broker to walk it down (and don't forget the Rosen Law Firm hit piece). Not bad for a few days' work, huh?
But of course the unseen naked shorts are a lot more profitable for them.
They say that the 1.3 million shares would be 1.26 days to cover, at average daily volume of a little more than a million. How many days to cover when the volume is under 100k/day, hmmm?
They could have a little problem if none of the strong hands are willing to sell.
