The first movie from the Paramount deal was indeed

The first movie from the Paramount deal was indeed uploaded, as they said it would. Chinatown, from 1974, a rental only for $4.99. I wonder if it's a scanned movie (in real 4k) or an upscaled HD. Can't tell that anymore.

Not the massive upload as a sticky on the pony board mentions though
Quote:
First 25 PARAMOUNT A-LIST films will be loaded on UF by Sept 1 !!! http://investorshangout.com/post/view?id=3118719
That's clearly not the case.
However, since it's in a stickied post, it is supposed to be real DD, no ?
I hope that people on the pony board don't rely on that stuff, but do some more digging themselves to keep them from getting disappointed.
Like this statement in the same sticky
Quote:
100 Movies a Month will begin being uploaded to UF in September !
We've read that before, even officially. Seeing is believing here.

Anyway, NTEK never officially stated that they would upload 25 movies by Sept.1. They merely stated in the PR
Quote:
The award-wining UltraFlix network will begin offering the extensive catalog of titles starting September 1, 2015.
And that's what they did. They delivered. Nothing wrong there.

I must say however that I am a little disappointed. Isn't there anything more blockbusterish, more "release the Kracken"-ish (to use pony slang) within the 1000 movies to give the start of the mega Paramount movie upload on UF some more panache ?
I mean they are about to quadruple their content catalogue !
And if you only take the feature cinema content on UF (excluding Iron Dragon), it's more than a 20-fold increase.
And they start with a 40 year old movie ?
Now it's like "Hear this: come and take a look at Ultraflix. We have a deal for 1000 Paramount movies, and the first one available to you is .......drum ruffle...... Chinatown ! (shhhh, it's from the previous century...)" Hooray !
It's a real classic alright, but a bit like a blank shot if you ask me.
Why not Minority Report f.e., that's been in the "Coming soon " section for three months now ?
But anyway, in contrary to what we are used to from NTEK, they did what they announced and on time. Maybe they changed in that respect.
That's more than I feared.
Good start. Now get some more attractive stuff from the Paramount list uploaded. That's the next confirmation that they could be on the right track.
