This is all speculation at this point. I'm just repeating this and I am not saying this is what has happened. One theory circulating out there is the company kept increasing the A/S knowing the MM's would borrow the naked shares thinking they are coming soon in to the O/S. In the mean time the company was buying all the illegal naked shares. The company was buying up the float. Finally yesterday they ran out of shares. Thus the desperate multiple 25 million sold blocks that we all seen jump below higher bids. The company had bought the float and the stock has halted. The company kept increasing the A/S so the shorts would continue the behavior until almost all shares were in the company's hands. Now there are millions of shares not accounted for. It was a trap. The second trap after the dividend. Naked short sellers took the bait again. Sounds quite extraordinary I know but after the dividend payout it would not surprise me.
