In case anyone was wondering about the relevance of yet another deliberate attempt at misinformation by a poster elsewhere who is not an expert in aerospace matters, the California bill relating to drone operation above private property is irrelevant to the commercial / industrial, law enforcement and military market that DSUS intends to capture a significant portion of. Also, the bill has not yet even been voted on by the State Senate.

In any event, it is the FAA which is responsible for regulating aerospace activities.

Brian Wynne, President and CEO of the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), has stated:

"The Supreme Court has ruled that property rights do not extend infinitely into the sky. Only the FAA [Federal Aviation Administration] can regulate airspace; states and municipalities can't. For the safety of our skies and to ensure that there is no confusion between state and federal law, we need Washington to make finalizing these rules a top priority."

"A study by AUVSI estimates that in the first decade following [drone] integration into the national airspace system, California's economy will gain more than 18,100 jobs and more than $14 billion in economic impact."

"It is our hope that the California Senate and, if necessary, Governor Brown, will take this enormous potential into account and reject this restrictive legislation."

So although the bill is irrelevant to DSUS's main market, it will still be interesting to see how Washington let this play out in relation to amateur / hobby use of drones.
