What does it matter? Even if all dropped tomorrow you would not be happy and fine something to complain about on the Shub whiner board. Bottomline line is we have a huge deal for A list content that starts to drop on 1 Sept. With Sony and Hisense coming on board, accounts will more than double in the next month or so. If so full of doubt, tomorrow will be your chance to exit.
Lighten up dude.
I don't care what you believe I would feel if the 1000 Paramount movies would be uploaded today. They won't get uploaded all today. So that's of no concern.
What does it matter ?
Well, let me explain why I asked how many of those movies are available in digital format.
Not all of those 1000 movies can be digital. Paramount lists 999 movies, of which quite a number were shot before a man even walked on the moon. So many need to be digitized. You should know that this is a very time consuming effort to get them into pristine, almost equal to native, 4k, ready for streaming on Ultraflix. It takes several days, the older ones even more, involving manual corrections.
Even those films that are available on DVD don't qualify for 4k, if no master file in at least HD is available.
So questioning if it was stated how many of those movies, and I presume there are quiet a lot, need top go through that scanning process, is bashing and whining, according to you ? Many thanks !
I sincerely hope that the current number of 4k Studios scanned films on Ultraflix is NOT a measure. I do suppose you know (and if you don't, you will now), that there are only 11 movies on UF that were (?) scanned by 4K Studios. And acording to a recent visit by someone on this board, that 4K Studios location wasn't exactly buzzing with activity.
Presuming that they could handle about 3 movies a week with two scanners, how long would it take to get say 100 movies scanned and ready for UF ? Well, we got 17 weeks left before the end of this year.
That's what I was thinking when I read 1000 Paramount movies this year.
Does that make me a basher ?
However, it seems that the NTEK statement was misinterpreted by the people attending the SHM, and that it was not 1000 Paramount movies, but 1000+ from major studios that will be added this year.
I guess I wait for the official PR and hopefully get more info from that.
Let's start seeing those first 25 Paramount A-list films that will be
loaded on UF by Sept 1. One week to go.
We had similar announcements not long ago ....
