There are at least two pump/dump gangs on iHUB that are pushing the stock, then they disappear mysteriously when the stock runs up to highs and then tanks. A few days later they reappear, plugging the stock again.
Some of them have even talked about pumping another stock (TPIV), taking profits, and putting the $$ into AVXL for another pump. Some of them try to solicit others to join their pumping gang by getting on an "email list."
I do think that AVXL has some good things going on, with the new management. The epilepsy drug provides a fall-back if the Alz treatment fails; the Michael J. Fox Foundation grant is a very good sign.
I do not have nearly as big a position in AVXL as I do in another stock that many of us have. I think it's a dangerous but worthwhile stock that may take longer than some think to have human trial results.
I wish the pumper/dumpers would move away from this -- although I have to admit that my fond wish is that they sell their holdings, the stock price falls -- and THEN there is some news that causes an enormous gap up so that the pumpers don't profit from it because they were out of the stock, and fear getting back in at much higher levels.
