That could be a reason for the delay in uploading films, according to 2015invest who wrote this on the pony board:

I don't think this has anything to do with the delay.
High Dynamic Range is a way of filming, meaning it is registered by a specially equipped camera when shot, or by a scanner when a legacy film is scanned, making over- and underexposed scans of the same frame, and then combining them into one frame to get the HDR.
So it is nothing that can be added after the film is shot or scanned in non HDR. It just can't be "reencoded" in HDR.
The "The director" scanners used by 4K studios are capable of HDR scanning.
There is no reason to assume that any HDR "reencoding" is right now delaying uploads on UF. This would only apply to older legacy films that have to be scanned. The majority of films uploaded recently however are upscaled already digital files. (used to be labeled "silver" )
In the last "corporate update" it was mentioned that
Quote:
We have also added HDR support in the latest version of our engine that will allow us to be one of the first companies to deliver “visually strong” Ultra HD.
Not yet.
That same poster also wrote previously:
Quote:
It's not 100 movies anymore but 500 A class movies that populate the majority of the top 250 movies. All in HDR and the unrivaled quality and quality of Ultraflix tech.

That is totally made up, nowhere was it stated by NTEK that all would be HDR (see quote above from the corporate update).
Hollywood started gearing up to adopt HDR only months ago, and NTEK would have 500 movies in HDR ?
Total crap from the "serious DD" board.
