Coujoe62-in response to your questions...I've pitc

I've gotten three of my properties optioned, attached a well known actor and also a former CSI producer to one of my projects but wasn't able to get anything picked up.
One of my projects won a writing award and another was a finalist.
What the pitch company does is rent a ballroom sized place at a hotel or conference center and invites all the production companies to send a rep to hear pitches. You sign up for as many pitch appointments as you want and get about 3-8 minutes to pitch to them. If they want to talk more to you, they tell you right there how they want to proceed.
It's done like speed dating with appointments every 10-15 minutes. You get a list of production companies attending in advance so you can research the ones looking for material similar to yours and when you get to the event you sign up for the ones you want to pitch to.
It's super nerve wracking at first but I did all kinds of meetings for about three years so I got used to it. Plus, my project that got the most attention was a television drama based on my life as a clinical psychotherapist in psychiatric hospitals in an inner city so I knew that material really well....I lived it.
Sorry if this should have been a private response.
