panel refresh rates (and gaming appropriate ports) have lagged a bit. re 4k tvs (and 4k tv-panel gaming adoption). looks like, this fall, that error will be corrected. judging by the research i've been reading
4k studios has been testing 4k/twitch ( for like 8mos or more). ntek considering this niche too. for those who don't know, twitch acquired by amazon (for $1billy cash last yr )

4k studios financed films, first-release and original series ("world 1-1" documentary series, "kosmos", "juan carlos and friends", "clubbentv", "la hernandez show", "well-go usa", et al)

apple imac 5k retina and os x (does that count as platform, software, service provider or oem - don't know yet)
